Making Carbon Credits Work for Smallholder Farmers

This report is exploring the potential of carbon credits to benefit smallholder farmers, food and nutrition security, and sustainable land use in Nigeria. Carbon financing can be one tool contributing to the transition to renewable energy and clean fuels, an undoubtedly important step for any country in face of the climate crisis. The report presents several opportunities which may enable carbon markets to contribute to the transition towards more sustainable food systems in Nigeria.
